The Red Devils put up a valiant effort but slipped to 7-6-4 overall after a 1-0 loss to F&M.

The Dickinson women’s soccer team fell to hosts and Centennial Conference opponents Franklin & Marshall in their final matchup of the season on Saturday, October 29.

Dickinson had the overwhelming share of possession and chances created, with 20-12 advantage in shots over the Diplomats and 12 corners forced. However, the Red Devils ultimately drew a blank and succumbed to defeat, as the Diplomats scored the match’s only goal from a corner kick when Kate Kerr redirected a header off Sarah Mischianti’s kick in the 32nd minute.

Goalie Amanda Masterson ’17 recorded three saves while Mary Katherine Brosnan ’20 did not face a shot in the second half. Olivia Termini ’19 led the Red Devils in shots with eight on the afternoon.

The Red Devils finished the season 7-6-4 overall and 2-5-2 in Conference play.

Despite not making the playoffs, the Red Devils can be very proud  of their accomplishments this season. They scored 34 total goals on the season, far surpassing last season’s mark of 25, along with averaging two goals per game. They also averaged 16.6 shots on goal per game, with 12 percent of those shots finding the back of the net. They played four games into double overtime, with all of those games ending in a tie, including a very intense match against Conference rivals Gettysburg.

The Red Devils will look to improve next season, hopefully competing for a Centennial Conference Championship.
