Men’s Swimming Tops Franklin & Marshall

The Red Devil men’s swim team took home a win over F&M on Senior Day at the Kline Center.

The Dickinson men’s swim team came out on top of a hotly contested meet against Centennial Conference archrivals Franklin & Marshall, coming away with a 115-90 victory on Senior Day at the Kline Center.

The Red Devils put on a clinic in the 200 breaststroke, taking the top three spots and an early lead. Sam Eaton ’17 led the way with a time of 2:09.48 to claim first place. Nick Beard ’18 finished second with a time of 2:14.45 while Will Freeman ’20 finished third with a time of 2:15.48. Eaton also won the 400-medley relay and Freeman took home second in the 200 individual medley, finishing in 2:01.12.

Ben Shapiro ’19 touched the wall first in the individual medley, posting a time of 1:58.64 as well as anchoring the Red Devils’ winning medley relay effort as well.

Mitch Reynolds ’18 won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:10.63 and the 500-free in a time of 4:55.05. James Cummings ’20 touched the wall third in the 1,000 freestyle, posting a time of 10:24.99.

Alex Bennett ’17 earned first place in the 200 freestyle with a mark of 1:47.30 and came in second in the 100 freestyle event, posting a time of 49.07.

Kiernan Jordan ’19 earned two wins, joining in the medley relay and touching the wall first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:57.67.

With this win, the Red Devils improve to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the Centennial Conference. They have since travelled to Gettysburg College on Wednesday night, February 1 for a 7:00 p.m. match-up with the Bullets.
