Organization Spotlight: MOB

Throughout a students’ four years at Dickinson, they are guaranteed to attend at least one MOB event.

MOB, according to Chair Julia Huddy ’19, is “the student programming board on campus,” meaning that they plan events for every Friday and Saturday evening throughout the entire school year (with the exception of breaks or holidays).

“We strive to provide a diversity of events that everyone will enjoy,” Huddy said.

The conception of MOB happened three years ago when various clubs on campus, all of whom programmed weekend events on campus, were competing for budgeting and attendance and eventually decided instead to join forces as MOB.

MOB has had a successful first few weeks on campus, recently hosting the third annual Drag Show as well as announcing Aminé as the headliner for the Fall Concert.

“We’re really excited for the Fall Concert, but we have all sorts of other events coming up before then, ranging from arts and crafts night to a Silent Disco,” Huddy said.

MOB is made up of more than just Huddy and the rest of the executive board. While the executive board organizes and executes MOB events, general members meet with the executive board Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in Althouse 110 to discuss ideas and plans for events for the year.

“We have a lot of fun, and we’re always open to suggestions…We love hearing from people and collaborating with other clubs on campus, but if you want to get involved please come to general meetings,” said Huddy.
