Cross Country Sweeps Little Three

The Dickinson men’s and women’s cross country teams claimed their 21st and 24th consecutive Little Three Championships, with each squad putting up a dominant performance against Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg on Friday night, September 8 at Dickinson Park.

The Red Devil men took home the top seven spots in their competition, led by Eric Herrmann ’19 and Bryce Descavish ’20, who placed first and second with times of 15:39 and 15:48, respectively.

Duncan Hopkins ’19 came in third and Nathan Udell ’17 placed fourth, followed by Kyle Fitch ’17, Will Chandler ‘19 and Matt Loalbo ’19 to round out the top seven.

Thomas Riordan ’20 added a top 10 finish to give Dickinson eight runners in the top 10 on the night.

The Dickinson women’s cross country team captured the Little Three Championship for the 24th consecutive year, defeating visiting Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg on Friday evening at Dickinson Park.

The Red Devils claimed the top two spots and placed eight runners in the top 10, putting together a dominant performance on a beautiful night for competition.

Sarah House ’20 led the way, won the individual title with a time of 18:03.4, while classmate Tessa Cassidy ’20 crossed the finish line second, finishing in 18:08.3.

Gettysburg placed a runner in third as the Red Devils runners Hannah Gore ’18 set the pace for Evelyn Lantz ‘21 and Allyson Yanega ’21 came in fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Amelia Lufrano ’21, Kelsey Horowitz ’18 and Emma Johnston ’21 placed eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively, to round out the top 10.

The next event for the Red Devils will be on Saturday, September 23rd, traveling to the Purple Valley Classic hosted by Williams College.
