The Red Devils dominated the field after halftime but could manage to score despite outshooting McDaniel 10-0 after the break, as a great performance by goalkeeper Elizabeth Collyer kept the Green Terror out in front. Dickinson made some strong attacking runs as Catherine Perlmutter ’17, Julia Murphy ’19 and Taylor Bednar ’19 all put shots on goal but McDaniel kept them at bay, handing the Terror their third win of the season by the score of 2-0.

The Red Devils scored another goal less than two minutes later as Perlmutter sent a shot into the circle and Scott slapped it into the cage to put Dickinson up 2-0.

Lynchburg quickly struck back with a goal to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Perlmutter stretched the lead to 3-1 as she deflected a pass from Kramer into the net. Perlmutter capitalized on a penalty stroke at the very end of the first period to make the score 4-1 going into halftime.

Perlmutter got her hat-trick, just six minutes into the second half before Kramer capped off the scoring with another nice finish with just over 21 minutes remaining in the game.

Dickinson’s defense supported their offense spectacularly, as goalkeeper Freddie Bancroft ’18 made four saves on the day before Heather Meeder ’20 came on, making three saves of her own.

The Red Devils honored seniors Perlmutter and Merrit Davis ‘17 before Saturday’s game against Bryn Mawr, recognizing the outstanding contributions of these two remarkable student-athletes to the Dickinson Field Hockey program.

Davis tied the school record for all-time assists as Alana Platukus ’20 scored her first goal as a Red Devil, redirecting a shot on a penalty corner to give Davis the 21st of her career.

Perlmutter scored a goal in the second half to become the program’s all-time leading goal scorer with the 46th of her career. She tallied her record-setting goal with 31:40 remaining in the game, putting an assist from Scott in the back of the cage.

Murphy closed out the game with back-to-back assists in just over a minute as she dished one out to Platukus for her second of the game and then assisted Olivia Young ‘20 for the first goal of her collegiate career.

The Red Devils outshot the Owls 28-0 and held an 8-0 advantage in penalty corners on the day.
