Women’s Track Tops 3,000m Race

The Dickinson women’s indoor track & field team competed in the Susquehanna University Challenge on Friday night, February 3, in Selinsgrove. The Red Devils went up against teams from Division II as well as Division III competition.

Sofia Canning ’18 won the 3,000-meter race, crossing the finish line in 10:29.14. Lucile Ionescu ‘19 and Kelsey Horowitz ‘18 finished third and fourth with times of 10:35.26 and 10:40.00, respectively, to claim three of the top five spots for Dickinson. Molly Conrad ‘20 added an 11th place finish with a mark of 11:19.40.

Adriana Frayne-Reixa ‘17 ran to a first-place finish in the mile, posting a winning time of 5:12.70. She also placed fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:29.60.

Hannah Gore ‘18 came in third in the mile with a time of 5:20.73 while Maura Reilly ‘19 and McKenna Spaulding ‘20 placed 10th and 14th with times of 5:38.93 and 5:41.66, respectively.

Natalie Suess ‘20 had a great showing in the triple jump, putting in a winning distance of 11.09 meters.

Amanda Jimcosky ’17 was second in the high jump with a height of 1.57 meters, and cleared 4.66 meters in the long jump. Imani Beard ‘17 was seventh in the long jump with a distance of 5.12m and 10th in the high jump with a height of 1.47 meters. Sophie Moore ‘17 had a long jump of 4.23 meters and cleared 1.37 meters in the high jump. Wrutoe Bonwin ’20 and Eryn Nelson ’19 clocked times of 8.84 and 9.08 in the 60 meters, respectively.

The Red Devils return home to host the Du Charme Invitational next Saturday with a start time of 10 a.m. at the Kline Center  before heading back to Selinsgrove for the Susquehanna University Invitational later this month.
