Favorite piece in your room: Emily’s favorite piece is her poster of Seattle, which features a Seattle skyline at sunset. “I hung it up in the beginning of the year when I was more homesick. Now when I look at it, it reminds me of home and makes me happy,” she said. Clara’s prized possessions are her plants. “I try to take very good care of them and they make me happy,” she said. “I am on good terms with most of my cacti except one, named Spike, who frequently falls over and gives me splinters.”

Dorm Inspiration:
Emily felt inspired by her West Coast roots. “I was inspired by the laid back comfy style of the Pacific northwest,” she said.

Clara, meanwhile, created an ambient mixture of “a cool coffee shop and the study of an elderly scientist.”

Favorite stores: Target, Vintage boutiques, Garden shops and Urban Outfitters

Fun Fact: Both roommates have tattoos with a personal meaning. Emily sports a tattoo of Mount Rainier, the same mountain that is on her poster. Clara, who is involved with the Dickinson Hive, has a honey bee tattoo on her arm.
