Red Devil of the Week: Maureen Newton ’65
Maureen Newton ’65 and her roommate Judith Rogers ’65 were the first African American women to live on campus. In the fall of 1961 they resided in Metzger Hall, which was a building that was home to the women of Dickinson College. Unfortunately, the property was eventually sold to make way for fast-food restaurants in Carlisle, according to the Dickinson Archives.
