Straight from the plate: Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’m not sure about you, but I find myself craving chocolate chip cookies at least once a week. It took me a while to find a good recipe and make it work, but after years of attempting to make the perfect chocolate chip cookies, I’ve finally found the perfect recipe and adapted it to my preferences. Ingredients: 1 cup butter (room temperature) ¾ cup white sugar ¾ cup packed brown sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp warm water ½ tsp salt 3 c all-purpose flour 2 c semisweet chocolate chips 1 c chopped walnuts (optional) Preparation: Preheat the oven to 350 F. With a mixer, mix together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Warm up the water in the microwave for 30 seconds, then dissolve the baking soda in it and add it to the mixture, in addition to the salt. Stir in the flour one cup at a time, and lastly the chocolate chips and walnuts. Use an ice cream scoop or tablespoon to scoop up the cookie dough and place it onto ungreased cookie pans. Bake for about 11-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown or until the desired texture is achieved. The cookies will continue to bake once they’re out of the oven.
