William Nelligan ’14 has been elected President of the newly modified Student Senate for the 2013-2014 academic year.
“I’m proud of the work Student Senate did this year to improve life at Dickinson, and I am looking forward to expanding on that work next year,” said Nelligan in a statement.
Nelligan plans to focus next year’s presidency on student life.
“I’m very interested in expanding Senate’s role as a major partner on projects and committees that seek to improve and enhance the student experience,” he said. “I also think that we need to do a much better job of engaging our fellow students where they are.”
Alongside Nelligan, Alex Toole ’14 was elected Vice President for Finance. Austin Davis ’15 was elected Vice President for Club Affairs. Nicole Wasson ’15 was elected Vice President for Operations and Engagement. Ben West ’14 was elected Vice President for Academics; this new position will lead the Public Affairs Committee and create a relationship between Student Senate and the Provost. No Vice President for Student Life was elected.
