Denim at the Quarry Potentially Extends Hours: Red Devils Rejoice

Denim Coffee at the Quarry may soon extend open hours until 7:00 PM on weekdays, according to recent social media activity from Denim accounts.

While the on-campus Denim location has been massively popular since it arrived earlier this year, it has closed at 3:00 PM on weekdays, leaving many students who either do not have time to go during the day or those who prefer to study in the evenings with a chance to caffeinate at Denim. The coffee shop may soon be open for business until 7:00 PM on weekdays. This potential change was indicated by social media posts made by Denim Coffee advertising barista position openings for a 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM shift.

The possibility of longer hours has sparked many positive opinions from Dickinson students. Emilio Gurany ’25 said, “I’m very excited to hear that [Denim will be open later] because evening Denim runs will be a great addition to both my daily life and to the community here at Dickinson.”

According to the founder and owner of Denim Coffee, Matt Ramsay, the company does not have much information regarding the timeline of events leading up to the official change being implemented. Ramsay said, “I don’t have an estimated date for when that change will take place, but we are accepting applications for baristas now.” He encouraged Dickinson students who have a love for coffee to apply for positions online at denimcoffeecompany.com.

Dickinson Director of Dining Services Errol Huffman explained, “Dickinson College and Denim Coffee work together and communicate regularly regarding operations [such as the extended hours].”
