Located in the lower level of Bosler, the Media Center is designed as a creative space and a perfect go-to spot for students looking to explore, design, innovate or fulfill a class project or assignment. With ongoing upgrades and flexible hours throughout the week, students can utilize the space and its equipment. Student worker, Maggie Weeten ’26, said, “I like that I get to experiment with different equipment and use the Makery.”
Media Center manager Anna Kerstetter supervises student workers and keeps track of all the Center’s operations. Brenda Landis is a Multimedia Specialist, teaching students how to create podcasts and videos, advising the radio station and Jam Space. Jam Space is located behind the Goodyear residence hall, serving as space to practice, host open mics and perform music.
In October, local student-run band High Street will be releasing an EP for their upcoming songs recorded enturely in the Media Center. Having played together for two years, the band consists of five members: guitarist and vocalist Finn Murray-Campbell ’26, guitarist Quinn Hart ’26, drummer Matt Tabrisky ’26, keyboard and synth Adam Hall ’26 and bassist Owen Barry ’26. Thanks to the work of Landis, the band was able to use the new studio in the Media Center to record their EP, “Like It Never Was,” coming out Oct. 27. The band will also be hosting a concert located in Witwer Hall on Oct. 4.
There are many rooms that serve different purposes in the Media Center, one of them being the Makery. This room offers several craft supplies, sewing equipment, a Cricut cutting machine, a 3D printer and their newest addition, a laser cutter and engraver. The space supports various creative projects, from designing outfits for events like the Renaissance Fair to producing Halloween costumes.
There are three new podcast rooms available in the Media Center that are fully equipped with high-tech technology for recording and filming. These rooms can also be accessed to play numerous video games on PlayStation and Xbox, with consoles and computers provided. Included in the Center is also a lounge room, available for studying, relaxing, watching movies and playing board games. Located in the equipment room, next to the Makery, students can also rent out or utilize equipment such as projectors, VR sets, mics and cameras.
The Media Center can accommodate reservations for equipment and spaces, provide tours, train for severe equipment use and set up for any projects.
