On Friday, April 27, MOB held a Sip and Paint event featuring flower arranging, vase painting and mocktails in the HUB Underground. Roughly 80 participants attended the event. The mix of lively conversation and perfectly curated music created a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
Attendees waited in line for flowers and vases, eager to get right to work! The HUB underground was buzzing with excitement as students brainstormed designs for their vases and arranging their flowers.
Aelish Symonds ’28 said, “I really love the MOB events that focus on crafting and creating stuff with our own hands. I enjoyed seeing what everyone painted in their vases and what flowers they chose.” At the end of the night, attendees were able to take both their creations and bouquets with them, just in time to decorate their dorms for Spring!
The event was also attended by organizers Zoey Bochicchio ’28 and Em Segal ’28, who are both Weekend Chairs for MOB. Bochicchio said, “We had a great experience working with Royer’s Flowers & Gifts; they made the planning process so smooth for the flower portion of the event, and we’ve loved partnering with them before for bulk flower orders.” However, she added that the process was not always smooth. “There were definitely a few small challenges like figuring out pick-up for such a large order and getting things like ice right before the event, as students without cars, which are details you don’t always think about until you’re in a planning role.”
Bochicchio expressed that she was very happy with how the event came together and that she loved the end result, especially the creations of the quests. “Every vase and bouquet I saw turned out so beautiful, and MOB general members and exec were so awesome helping with set up. I’ve also been wanting to do both a bouquet making activity and a paint and sip for a while, so being able to combine them, especially as one of Em and I’s last events as weekend chairs felt really special!”
