The Dickinson men’s tennis team fell 8-1 in the regular season finale against Franklin and Marshall College on Saturday, April 26. First year Evan Davis showed up strong, claiming the sole point on the afternoon in the sixth singles flight.

Many matches went the distance of three sets, leading to many nail biter finishes. Clark Chapman ’17 and Steven Kaplan ’17 were both able to claim their first sets, but fell in the next two to the Diplomats. Kaplan and Chapman played a strong second doubles flight, but dropped in a 8-6 decision.

The same situation occurred in the fifth singles flight where Josh Kaseff ’15 claimed the first set 6-2, but was unable to maintain the lead for the next two sets.

The men’s team was just shy of making the conference playoffs and finished 6-10 overall and 4-5 in the Centennial Conference.

On Saturday, April 26, the women’s tennis team faced the Muhlenberg Mules where the Devils dropped in a 5-4 decision. The Mules were able to dominate doubles matches and claimed a 3-0 lead from the start. After Muhlenberg tacked on two singles wins, the Devils were unable to make a comeback.

Sydney Diamond ’16 claimed a victory for the devils winning the second singles flight in two straight sets. Senior Madeline Altholtz claimed the third flight while classmate Claire Stoner overcame a difficult first set to win the sixth singles flight in three sets.

The women also just barely missed conference playoffs and finished 8-8 overall and 6-4 in the Centennial Conference.
