Men’s Golf Places Fifth at Messiah

The Dickinson men’s golf team finished fifth at the nine-team, two-day Messiah College Falcon Classic, held on Sunday and Monday, April 23 and 24. The Red Devils combined for a 326 on at Blue Ridge on Sunday and 321 on the Colonial course on Monday for a total score of 647.

Hunter Tuccio ’18, who is competing in the individual competition, led the Red Devils, carding a round of 80 on Sunday.

Stephen Hoefer ’17 and Charlie Zane ’20 both carded scores of 81 for the first day.

Ryan Kowash ’18 and Bobby McFadden ’19 had rounds of 82 while Stephen Bonacci ’19 and Vince Warzecha ’19 carded an 84 and 85, respectively.

Lebanon Valley combined for a 308 to take the lead after day one with Franklin & Marshall and Stevenson coming in at 312 and 319. McDaniel is six strokes ahead of Dickinson with a 320.

Franklin & Marshall captured the team title with rounds of (312-295-607) with Lebanon Valley taking second with scores of (308-309-617). Messiah (320-310) and Stevenson (319-311) tied for third at 630.

Zane dropped his score back down into the 70’s on day two, carding a 78 for a two-day total of 159 and a top-20 finish in the individual standings.

McFadden ended the competition with a 161, shooting a 79 day-two total while Hoefer managed to card back-to-back rounds of 81 for a 162 final score.

Tuccio was next in line with a (80-84-164) and Kowash carded a 165 (82-83). Bonacci (84-83) and Vincent Warzecha ’19 (85-82) both came in with a tally of 167.

Franklin & Marshall took home the team title with rounds of 312 and 295 for a tournament total of 607 while Lebanon Valley claimed second with scores of 308-309-617. Messiah (320-310) and Stevenson (319-311) tied for third at 630.
