Men’s Golf First at Gettysburg

The Dickinson men’s golf team placed second at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Monday, Oct. 2 and earned first-place honors at the Gettysburg Fall Invitational at the Hanover Country Club on Wednesday, Oct. 4, while the women’s squad took home fourth place.

Charlie Zane ’19 carded a 72 at Muhlenburg, which was good enough for second place and just one stroke behind first-place finisher Daniel Eidman.

Tyler Caballero ’21 and Jake Kessel ’18 each recorded a score of 77 while Vince Warzecha ’19 finished with a 79 and Ryan Kowash ’18 carded an 85.

The Red Devils recorded a combined score of 305, tying Moravian College for second place and finishing just three strokes behind Muhlenberg.

Warzecha led all of the Dickinson golfers with a round of 74 to finish third in the individual standings while Zane carded a 79, coming in fifth.

Jacob Liberman ’21 and Davis Kline ’21 tallied scores of 84 and 85, respectively, to secure a Red Devil victory. Schuyler Leff ’20 carded an 86 as the Red Devils recorded a total score of 319 to take home the win.

The Dickinson women finished only 10 strokes behind first-place Stevenson University and trailed Gettysburg by one, finishing with a total score of 370.

Hannah Hughes ’20 led the Red Devils with a sixth-place finish in the individual competition, carding a round of 88. Olivia Brown ’21 followed with a score of 93 as Lisi Mueller ’18 and Emily Rieder ’19 notched respective scores of 94 and 95, while Hannah Heiring ’20 ended the day with a total of 103.

Laura Rentz, competing for Stevenson, took first place in the individual competition with a score of 82, finishing just in front of Gettysburg’s Fontaine McFeatears by one stroke.

The Red Devil women’s next event will be on Saturday, Oct. 21st when they host the All-American Red Devil Classic at the U.S. Army War College Barracks Course.
