Predicted Decrease in Incoming Class

Admissions anticipates the class of 2020 will have 605-620 students, almost a 100 student decrease from the class of 2019, according to Angela Barone, director of Admissions Communication.

Barone stated in an email that this decrease in enrolled students is “comparable to two years ago and behind where [we] were last year, which is positive.” Admissions intended for the incoming class of 2020 to be smaller than the class of 2019, which was the largest class ever enrolled at Dickinson College.

Admissions notes “an increase in the international student population and strong numbers of students of color as well” for the class of 2020. According to the Dickinson College website, out of the 220 early decision accepted applicants, 20 percent are domestic students of color and seven foreign countries are represented.

Barone stated that Dickinson “shared the news of [President Roseman’s] resignation at admitted student events, both on and off campus,” and expressed that the admissions team “had good conversations with students and parents” about the resignation. Barone stated that admissions does not “anticipate [Roseman’s resignation to have] a significant impact on student decisions” to enroll.
