Crafting Corner: T-shirt Bag

Sick and tired of looking in your dresser and seeing that one oversized t-shirt you never wear? Or are you just looking for a cute reusable bag? Or maybe both?

Materials:

T-shirt

Scissors

Pen/Washable Marker

Directions:

Start by folding the t-shirt inside out and laying it on a flat surface. Using a pen or washable marker, mark how deep you want the bag to be. I’d suggest leaving at least two inches of space at the bottom of the t-shirt. Using scissors, cut strips from the bottom of the shirt to the marked guideline. There’s no specific width each strip should be, but I would recommend about ½ an inch to an inch thick. After you’ve cut all the strips, tie the corresponding strip on the front side of the shirt to the strip on the back side of the shirt. Considering that I’m not the best at sewing, I’d much rather tie strips of fabric together than whip out my needle and thread. Once all the strips are tied, you can trim the excess length on the strips if it bothers you. With the shirt still inside out, cut both sleeves off and cut a wider neckline. Flip the shirt inside out again and you have yourself a reusable t-shirt bag. Simple as that!
