Caf Review: Presidential BLT

Caf Review: Presidential BLT

I am typically a verbal food critic, not a critic in words, but the faculty sandwich specialty at the Quarry inspired me to write. The “Presidential BLT” was masterminded by President Ensign and being an Ensign fan I figured I’d try it. The sandwich was well crafted and the hard-boiled egg, to my own surprise, helped hold the sandwich together. The bacon, which can be well substituted for with other options, along with the tomato and cheese was satisfying and all-around filling. This sandwich was crafted in the midst of the winter and as such, I would recommend enjoying it on a day with snow or maybe a day when you just need some warming up. Unluckily, I decided to try this new option on one of the hotter days of the week, and unfortunately the exceedingly thick pieces of bread made my opinion of the sandwich fall a bit flat. All-in-all, the sandwich was a nice spin on the original BLT style, with a satisfying taste, yet the grease and bread docked points for me. Overall, I would not have the interest in re-tasting this sandwich.
