Brian Ta ’22 is from Vietnam; however, he has spent the last two years of high school in Maine. Brian wants to be fluent in multiple languages, and his motto is “Keep an open mind, always”.

This particular motto resonates with Brian because it emphasizes the importance of keeping an open mind. “My French teacher back in high school, he used to say [that quote] a lot and then I started to adapt. I wanted to [adapt] because it’s really important to keep a fresh and open mind, to get to know people and to know your assumption of them, and to get beyond that assumption and know them for who they are,” he said.
