Caf Review: Holiday Meal

Caf Review: Holiday Meal

Twas’ two weeks before Christmas, and all through the Caf, not a sound to be heard, not even a laugh. Oh, what I saw was a tremendous sight, the line to the Caf stood with great might.

I waited in line for what seemed an eternity, to find some food that would fill me with certainty. Once I got into the door I was so excited, as the holiday buffet would solve the hunger with which I was plighted.

The buffet was a magnificent sight. There was salad, mashed potatoes, many kinds of breads, seasonal meats and an endless supply of tasty desserts. The sliced beef was by far the best of the seasonal meats, as it was firm but not overcooked. It went well with the helpings of mashed potatoes I got that were served with a side of delicious gravy. Honestly, the gravy was so good I could have had it to drink, however it was better with the mashed potatoes.

The best part of the meal was the desserts. There were cakes, brownies, yule logs, pies and puddings. I personally liked the cheesecakes the best as there was a large selection ranging from plain to cherry and chocolate chip flavored.

My favorite was the chocolate chip cheesecake, as the creaminess of the cake was supplemented nicely by the crunch of the chocolate chips. Another cake I tried was the vanilla cinnamon cake; however, some of the textures within it did not blend well.

Some of the yule logs were quite delicious, but you have to make sure you get the fresh ones as they are not delicious when dry. I really enjoyed this spread of holiday foods and look forward to trying it again next time.
