Man crashes car into Denny apartments

Students were shocked to see images across social media platforms of a car crashing into one of the Dickinson’s Denny apartments on High Street. The crash, which occurred just after midnight on Mar. 1, resulted in no injuries.

The driver crashed into a parked car belonging to a student before hitting the building and then running away. The driver was located and detained by the Carlisle police at approximately 12:35 AM. The Carlisle Police Department were forced to use a taser on the driver after locating him; Dickinson Public Safety officers had no interaction with the driver.

Both the driver’s vehicle and the parked car were towed away because of damage. No substantial damage was caused to the apartment building. It was declared to be structurally sound and safe for residents.

The suspect was charged and there is an ongoing investigation by the Carlisle Police Department. Dickinson Public Safety is not involved with the investigation or the case against the suspect.
