Track Hosts  DuCharme Invitational

The men’s and women’s Dickinson track and field teams hosted the annual DuCharme Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 2 in the Kline Center.  Teams from within and without the Centennial Conference, as well as several Dickinson alumni, participated.

The Red Devil women continued to show their prowess throughout all events, particularly in distance by capturing places two through six in the 3000 meter run.  Sofia Canning ’18 was the top Dickinson runner, finishing in 10:21.74.  Natalie Suess ‘20 won the 400 meters with a time of 1:01.15 and took fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 9.66 meters.  Taking second in the triple jump was Amanda Jimcosky ’17 with a jump of 10.02 meters.  Jimcosky also won the high jump with a height of 1.52 meters, jumping alongside classmate Imani Beard ’17, who placed fourth.  On the tack, Wrutoe Bonwin ’20 placed in the top ten in both the 55 meters and 60 meters, with times of 7.89 and 30.15 seconds, respectively.  In the mile, Allyson Yanega ’21 crossed the finish line first with a time of 5:26.02.

On the men’s side, Kacper Rzempołuch ’21 cleared 4.25 meters in the pole vault to place first and earn himself Centennial Conference Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.  Eric Herrmann ’19 won the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.71 and joined Duncan Hopkins ’19, Nathan Udell ’18, and Bryce Descavish ’20 in the 4×1600 meter relay that placed third. Kenny Blessing ’21 and Marcus Robinson ’18 took fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 55 meters, with times of 6.82 and 6.84 seconds.  Ben Sobel ’21 took third in the high jump with a height of 1.60 meters, and Zach Popkin ’19 took sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.71 meters.  In the shot put, Devin Glasson ’18 threw for a distance of 13.83 meters and took second.  Dickinson graduate Zachary Simmons ’16 won the 3000 meters with a time of 9:05.23.

This Friday, Feb. 9 the Red Devils travel to the Fort Washington Avenue Armory Track and Field Facility for the NYU Invite.
