Last Wednesday, Feb. 12, the Red Devils traveled to Lancaster to face the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats where they unfortunately lost 64-53. Fresh off their win against Ursinus, the Devils sought to continue building momentum.

The Diplomats jumped out to an 8-0 lead to start the game and extended that lead to 24-9 with little more than five minutes left in the half. However, the Devils were able to cut their deficit to 30-25 after a strong scoring streak.

The second half was a relatively low scoring affair as both defenses played well. The Diplomats were able to improve their lead by six points and won the game by a final 64-53. Bryce Allen ’20 led the team in both points, with 18, and assists, with 3. After the game the Devils fell to 3-19 overall and 3-12 against Centennial Conference opponents.

Last Saturday, Feb. 15, the Red Devils traveled to Swarthmore, Pennsylvania to face the Swarthmore College Garnet. The first half went very well for the Devils. They were able to leave the half with only a five-point (44-39) deficit against one of their strongest conference rivals with the possibility for a comeback.

In fact, at one point the Devils had the lead but fell behind after Swarthmore scored 8 consecutive points. However, in the second half the Garnet were able to hold on and win by a final score of 96-69. Again, Allen led the team in both points, with 20, and assists, with 11. If Allen had gotten one more assist, he would have tied the school’s record, currently at 12.

After the game the Devils fell to 3-20 overall and 3-12 against Centennial Conference opponents. The Devils will host Washington College this upcoming Sat., Feb. 22 and we wish them luck and continued success.
