Dear Food Service Executive,
I admire that you are trying to make some changes, such as extending the cafeteria hours.
I am assuming that this is from the survey the students took about the cafeteria last year.
However, I am disappointed that you ignored my suggestion, which was to cut down on the insane amount of onions served in the cafeteria.
No, I am not allergic, and I don’t have a sensitive stomach. I just plainly do not like them.
I remember that traumatic day in my freshman year when I ordered a veggie wrap. When I heard “veggie” I assumed the wrap would include carrots, tomatoes, and lettuce. Instead, I bit into the wrap only to find that it was full of onions! The horror!
I propose a suggestion. I acknowledge that all students to do not feel the same way I do about onions. Therefore, I suggest that onions not be banned from the cafeteria, but instead be offered as a side option, as they are at the salad bar. Don’t sneak onions into my lo mein at the grille. (Yes, I have seen the huge tubs of onions waiting behind the counter.)
Don’t offer a “veggie wrap” that is made entirely of onions. If a student wishes to have onions on a sandwich, or in their noodles, they can request them. Also, I think the spaghetti sauce would taste better with about half the amount of onions.
Thank you very much. I look forward to a future of minimal onions.
Sincerely,
