Dickinson women’s Soccer topped Bryn Mawr 7-0 on Saturday, Oct. 5 to improve to 5-4-2 overall. Dickinson dominated both halves in front of a home crowd. Seven different Red Devils scored in the effort.

Bryn Mawr currently sits in last place in Centennial Conference play with a record of 0-4. The game was played mostly in Dickinson’s offensive zone as the Devils outshot the Owls 34-5. Dickinson also generated seven corner kicks to Bryn Mawr’s zero.

Roz Savoie ’14 got the scoring started by heading a well-placed cross ball from teammate Jess Swain ’15. The next three goals came in quick succession before the half. Erin Stuphen ’16 gathered a ball from Allie Young ’15 to score Dickinson’s second goal just 20 minutes into play. In an impressive showing, Gabrielle Tomasini ’17 took a shot from 30 yards out and placed it perfectly into the corner of the net. Following suit, fellow Red Devil Bridgette Corbran ’16 launched a rocket from the same spot on the field to give the Devils a 4-0 lead.

Dickinson came out strong after the half with two quick goals, one each by Young and Olivia Licata ’14. Licata controlled a free kick by Talia Amarsano ’17 and placed it just passed the goalie into the back of the net to stretch the margin to 6-0. Dickinson’s defense was anchored by Deanna Ballard ’17, who made the start in net for the Red Devils. She totaled three saves in the match.

Dickinson improves to 5-4-2 overall, while moving to 1-1-2 in conference play. They stand at seventh place in a bunched-up Centennial Conference. Their next matchup will be against Gettysburg at home on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7:00 pm. After that, they travel to Washington College on Saturday, Oct. 12. Gettysburg and Washington are fourth and tenth in the conference, respectively.
