Track and Field Competes at Bison Open

The Dickinson men’s and women’s Track and Field teams competed against teams from all NCAA divisions on Saturday.

The Dickinson men’s and women’s track & field teams squared off against schools from all divisions of NCAA competition at the 19th Annual Bison Open, hosted by Bucknell University on Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28.

For the men, Mason Hepner ’17 posted strong finishes in two distances races, placing second overall in the mile and sixth overall in the 3,000 meters. He ran the mile in 4:21.22 and the 3,000 in 8:47.39.

Patrick Nolan ’17 clocked times of 4:34.82 in the mile, finishing twenty-third overall and posted a time of 2:04.63 in the 800-meter race.

Billy Dougherty ’18 clocked a time of 2:04.05 in the 800 while Nathan Udell ’18 finished the 3,000-meter race in 9:20.68.

Devon Glasson ’18 took home seventh place in the shot put with a throw distance of 13.56 meters while Thomas Riordan ’20 finished the 400-meter contest with a time of 52.75.

The women turned in plenty of strong performances as well as Adriana Frayne-Reixa ’17 led the way, running the mile in 5:14.16 to finish in fourth. She also had a strong showing in the 3,000-meter race, finishing 11th overall with a time of 10:42.24.

Caitlin Farrell ’18 ran the mile in 5:40.44, finishing just ahead of teammates Maura Reilly ’19 and Kellyn Madden ’19, who clocked times of 5:41.75 and 5:41.81, respectively.

Amanda Jimcosky ’17 earned eighth place in the high jump by virtue of number of jumps, matching the second-best height of the day by clearing 1.62 meters.

Imani Beard ’17 leapt 4.91 meters in long jump with Natalie Suess ’20 was just behind, jumping 4.89 meters. Suess ranked sixth in the triple jump, clearing 11.13 meters.

Olivia Watson ’19 finished the 800-meter race in 2:30.34 and Jamie George ’17 clocked a time of 1:02.48 in the 400-meter contest. George and Watson joined Farrell and Jackie Hochheiser ’18 to post a time of 4:27.10 in the 4×400 relay.

Both Red Devils track squads travel to the Susquehanna University Challenge on Friday, February 3 and will return home to host the Du Charme Invitational on Saturday, February 11th.
